Company Profile
|
|
Founded in 1953, TSFA currently consists of around 140 members the majority of whom are specialized in manufacturing woven cloth of man-made filament. Over 90% of the manufacture (including Nylon cloth, Polyester cloth, special cloth, and new-synthetic fiber woven cloth) is for export. Its wide and varied applications are in the production of garments for outdoor activities, snow coats, apparel linings, men's and women's jackets or suits or shirts, cover sheets, cloth for handbags and luggage, fire-retardant and bullet-proof products, anti- UV industrial items, and so many others. With incessant effort going into the development of synthetic fiber and dyeing and finishing know-how, many TSFA members are known for business strategies that are notably centered around greening in every phase of manufacturing which conforms to major international environmental standards such as bluesign ® and Oeko-Tex®. This is how Taiwan's man-made filament weaving industry stays competitive as a purveyor of functional cloth of high quality, a fact that many of major global sports and outdoor brands have been affirming. Statisticswise, Taiwan's export of filament-weaving industry for 2016 was close to US$3 billions in value which accounted for over a quarter of the nation's total textile exports.
