TEPP

The Taiwan textile Industry is focused on value added product development and sustainable efforts to improve the world we live in. TheTextile Export Promotion Project (TEPP) implemented by Taiwan Textile Federation is uniquely designed to promote the Taiwan textile industry by attending international shows, organizing trade missions and match-making meetings between brands and Taiwan producers, and bringing the advantages of Taiwan textiles to the forefront.

Unique special yarn developments are an important facet of this story augmented by ever improving finishes and finishing processes. The development of carbon safe C6 for water repellency is being led by Taiwan. Perhaps the strongest statement in regards to the environment and sustainable practices is the importance of bluesign® where Taiwan is the undeniable global leader in the adoption and expansion of this important designation. Bluesign® designation means more than just being environmentally friendly. It is a commitment to the world that encompasses an ongoing process and promise to manufacture and develop the most sustainable directional products and practices possible. Leading brands like Patagonia insist on bluesign® certified mills for future development and participation as a core member of their supply chain, Taiwan leads the effort in this important direction. The trend for bluesign® certification continues to grow, if it’s important to your business and your companies global citizenship footprint, Taiwanese textile companies are prepared to help facilitate your needs.

Eco friendly, sustainable practices have become a core background of Taiwan Textile development. However; innovation is still the critical glue that keeps it all together. New products are what keep the engine going, making the value proposition unresistable. New yarn developments allowing multiple looks and textures are driving innovation. Soft, crisp, vibrant or mellow, inspired market looks and touches are there. Mixtures of new technologies and fashion allow new design elements that were hard to imagine in the past. Polymer based yarn developments in polyester, nylon, recycled and blended with natural fibers lead the way. You can have the look and feel of natural fiber fabrics with the performance and flexibility of synthetics. Comfortable, breathable, wind and water resistant textiles mixed and matched in breathtaking design elements. Add in odor control and and a myriad of product enhancements allowing new and innovative design directions bringing the consumer endless options.

The TEPP concept has allowed up to sixteen Taiwan Textile companies each year to be introduced to the market in a new format and in some cases for the first time. This year a new focus has been added that brought three innovative yarn companies into the TEPP family. Chain Yarn, Yi Jinn and Acelon have led this emphasis in 2015.

These markets which include medical, clean room, paint room and pharmaceutical textile end uses. Designed to reduce cost and simplify production while maintaining high anti-static properties. As developed this product could even influence traditional textile products helping to reduce cold weather static electricity. A second development, “Dope dyed” nylon will be able to improve color consistency and fastness issues associated with nylon and more ecological dyeing and finishing processes. Lastly they are working on a Lyocell filament product with great physical properties, extended life and a soft touch.
