Since 1969, Zig Sheng has grown from a small draw textured yarn plant with 35 employees and 50 tons of DTY per month, to one of the major draw textured yarn (DTY) plant in Taiwan that produces 7,000 tons of yarn per month in 1997. A t time when most of Taiwan’s traditional industries shifted outside of Taiwan, Zig Sheng, on the contrary, has decided to stay at Taiwan, and aggressively seeking to transform the technology and business model to suit the macro environment changes. Apart from pursuing competitive advantage by specializing in small, differentiated textured yarn, Zig Sheng also penetrated into the upstream polyamide industry in 1997 with nylon yarn and polyamide polymers. With over US$ 67 million invested in the expansions. Zig Sheng has consolidated its status as one of the world’s leading polyamide polymer suppliers.
- Ten plants: three PA6 polymer plants (production capacity: 200,000 tons/year), one composite materials plant (production capacity: 8,000 tons/year), two only spinning plants (production capacity: 72,000 tons/year), three draw textured yarn plants and one ATY plant (production capacity: 57,000 ton/year).
