In the earliest of times when human beings firstly discovered that silkworms could spin, and silk could be used to weave cloth, spinning and weaving became a magic and vital technology in humans’ affairs. In the memory of history, there was a man called “Lei Zu” who was related to this technology, and the key idea of this technology is “Suo (shuttle)”. Lei Zu could only be a code name in the process of discovery and invention, which represents the life course of the entry to the textile era. The idea of “Suo”, however, is truly a human beings’ great and intelligent creation.
“Suo” represents a systematic order and a practical purpose accomplished through orderliness and complexity using a simple and effective method. Splendid lines, wisdom and civilization are weaved through intertwined silk and threads.
Therefore, “Suo” represents wisdom and civilization’s continuous progress, communication, extension and development, which heralds human beings’ entry to the technical era of creation and practicality across the primitive and darkness.
Textile Research and Development Association International R.O.C. (TRDAI) was founded on December 3rd, 1999 based on such an understanding and spirit, of which its purposes are to recruit professional talents, inspire R&D operational work, and urge the domestic textile industry to reach another development peak in the new era with accurate technologies and international views through organizational exchanges.
As time spins like a shuttle and enters the year 2002, we hope “TRDAI” will become a wisdom shuttle for the domestic textile industry to advance forward, and lead us to enter a new textile era.
